Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Business Leader for several practice areas within our organization. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing and advancing the strategic direction, growth, and operational effectiveness of these practice areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and market leadership.
- Lead the development and execution of business development strategies to expand the client base, enhance service offerings, and increase market share.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to align business objectives with overall organizational goals and objectives.
Practice Group Management:
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to practice group leaders and attorneys, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Oversee the recruitment, retention, and professional development of attorneys and staff within the specific practice areas you cover.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess the performance and profitability of the practice groups.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering high-quality legal services that exceed expectations.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities through targeted outreach and networking efforts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel and innovative solutions to address their legal challenges.
Business Development and Marketing:
- Lead business development efforts to identify and pursue new opportunities for growth.
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and branding strategies to promote the firm's expertise and thought leadership in these areas.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to raise visibility and generate leads.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure efficient and effective operations, optimizing workflows, processes, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with firm management and department heads to implement best practices and quality control measures to deliver exceptional client service.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the practice groups, encouraging creativity and adaptability in response to evolving client needs and market dynamics.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10+ years in a C-suite position with a proven track record of success in business development, marketing, and operations.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Experience successfully managing KPIs/metrics to evaluate team performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across diverse teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and client needs.
- Expertise in change management and leading teams through periods of growth, transformation, or restructuring to optimize business performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal practice management software.
