Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic legal team, specializing in personal injury cases with a focus on the pre-litigation process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law and be skilled at managing pre-litigation tasks, overseeing case managers (CMs) and paralegals to ensure that all processes are handled efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Case Managers (CMs) and Paralegals: Ensure that CMs and paralegals carry out their responsibilities efficiently, maintaining case momentum while providing exceptional client service.
- Client Communication: Ensure CMs conduct an introductory call with clients within 24 hours to collect essential information, including the insurance declaration page (Dec Page), photos of property damage (PD), accident details, and witness information.
- Police Reports: Ensure CAA (Claims Administrative Assistant) requests & obtains police reports
- Insurance Information: CMs must gather and confirm insurance details, including liability limits, PIP limits, UM/UIM limits, and input health insurance data into the insurance tab. CMs should ensure that CAA places the health insurance carrier on notice with the necessary information.
- Send police reports and ER/Urgent care records for Date of Accident (DOA) confirmation to our compliance attorney
- Oversee CMs as they reach out to medical providers (Chiropractors/PT, MRI centers, PM/Ortho) to supply PIP claim information, health insurance details, and other necessary billing information.
- PLIGA Claims: Ensure CMs open PLIGA claims, complete PLIGA applications, submit for approval, and enter the claim number in the Insurance tab.
- Threshold Review: Review clients’ declaration pages and direct CMs to send a Chatter message to Chris K if the threshold is Zero or there is no limitation on lawsuit threshold.
- Lost Wage Claims: Ensure CMs file lost wage claims for clients who have missed work due to the accident.
- Property Damage Claims: While not a core service, ensure CAA opens property damage (PD) claims if required to retain clients. CMs must verify that PD adjusters assess damages, and client vehicles are either repaired or paid out.
- PD Photos: Ensure CMs obtain property damage photos from the client and save them in the “Photos” folder in Litify.
- Premises Liability:
- Tax Assessor Search: Ensure CMs obtain tax assessor searches for premises liability cases.
- Spoilation Letters: Oversee CMs are sending out spoilation letters to preserve evidence.
- Camera Footage Requests: Ensure CMs send letters to neighboring properties requesting camera footage.
- Turnover Letters: Ensure CMs send turnover letters to property owners and registered agents.
- Monthly Client Calls: Ensure CMs make monthly client calls, tracking communication in the touchpoint tracker. Each call should cover four main pillars: empathy, treatment/pain status, address confirmation, and next steps.
- Legal Case Progression: Ensure that all cases are on track and that the pre-litigation process is handled efficiently, including the preparation of cases for potential litigation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with case management software, particularly Litify.
- Familiarity with insurance claims, medical treatment coordination, and thresholds in personal injury cases.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
