A hidden gem in New Jersey, Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park was established in 2009 and is a national treasure.
The park protects a significant piece of American history – the falls and mill complex of Great Falls, which was the site of an early 19th-century industrial center.
This National Park is a short drive from NYC and is a great place to visit for a day trip to escape the city and experience the outdoors.
Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park is the perfect place to get away from it all. As a New Jersey native, I've always known Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park was an underrated gem. Located in Passaic County, the park has a rich history and offers a little bit of everything: hiking, fishing, birdwatching, kayaking.
If you live in the area, you should put it on your list as a must-go. But if you don't, you should make a day trip out of it.
LAMBERT CASTLE MUSEUM
Lambert Castle Museum is one of my favorite places in the world. It's a beautiful old house, built-in 1836 that once belonged to a wealthy family.
The exterior is brick, with an impressive black and white marble gallery. Inside, the ceilings are a grand high, with gold leaf detail and beautiful marble floors. It's a museum now, and you can see what life was like in the 1800s.
It's also a great place to take pictures - I love how the light streams in through the windows and makes the rooms feel so alive.
Lambert Castle Museum is one of those hidden gems in Ohio that you may not know about. But whether you're from the area or visiting, you need to go!
This museum is tucked away in the small town of Beloit, Ohio (about an hour north of Columbus). There are over 15,000 artifacts on display, including art, historical documents, and furniture.
