In the United States, the census-designated place Leola is located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Prior to 2010, it was known as the Leacock-Leola-Bareville census-designated place. It comprises the unincorporated communities of Leola, Leacock, and Bareville. The current name of "Mechanicsburg" is a portmanteau of "Leacock" and the "Glenola" railway station that once served the city. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 7,720.
