The U.S. Census Bureau reports that the city has a total area of 4.7 square miles, of which 4.3 square miles are land and 0.4 square miles (8.39%) are water, including Bushkill Creek and the Lehigh and Delaware rivers. It also contains Getter's Island, the location of the last public execution in Pennsylvania.
