Asbury Park is a beachfront community situated on the Jersey Shore in Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is part of the metropolitan area of New York. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 15,188, representing a decrease of 928 from the 2010 census total of 16,116, which in turn represented a decrease of 814 from the 2000 census total of 16,930. Money and Travel + Leisure named Asbury Park's beach one of the best in the globe and one of the best in the country in 2022.
Asbury Park was incorporated as a municipality on March 26, 1874, by an act of the New Jersey Legislature from portions of Ocean Township. The borough's incorporation date was February 28, 1893.
